この地域一体には谷戸が続いており、敷地は谷状の地形の底にあります。さらに変形した角地の狭小地という条件で、建築できる面積も、眺望を得られるような方位も限られていました。
環境的・空間的にこもりやすい場所性に対して、どのように開放できるかがこの住宅の主題となりました。

建物を「居室棟」と「水廻り棟」の機能別に分け、それらを一点で接合することによって、クレヴァス（氷河にできる割れ目）のような鋭角に切込んだ中庭を設けました。また、構造壁を外側に集中させることで、開口部を内側に集中させています。これにより外部に大きく開きながら、適度にプライベート性もある不思議な領域を生み出しています。

By dividing the building according to the functions of "living room building" and "water ridge building" and joining them at one point,We set up a courtyard cut at an acute angle like Crevasse (a crack that can be formed in a glacier). Also, by concentrating the structural walls on the outside, the openings are concentrated on the inside.This widely opens to the outside while creating a mysterious area with moderate privacy.
