JYUKUSEI MUSEUM PROJECT

「JYUKUSEI MUSEUM PROJECT」

"JYUKUSEI MUSEUM PROJECT" was a museum plan with the theme of "food aging".
Our proposal is inspired by the "barrel" that puts the ingredients to be aged and brings out the flavor. So there is a gap (opening) cut out at an acute angle on the wall of the building. This is a design reminiscent of the process of decaying barrels. In addition, this method of opening the gap is optimized so that the exhibition can take advantage of natural lighting while keeping the room temperature constant.

The structure consists of a perfect circle made of laminated wood wall pillars. Each wall pillar bears a horizontal load while leaning against each other. For joining wall pillar pieces, a simple and strong joint is realized by turning a steel flat bar like a hoop used for barrels.
